Current pre-approved plans offerings just focus on quicker permitting processes by featuring a selected number of plans (some free and some requiring purchase). The prospective homebuyer still needs to hire an architect and builder to bring their project to reality. The Accelerator offers a turnkey solution that leverages established off-site construction programs to provide pre-approved plans and a partner that works with the homebuyer to actually deliver the project. Plus, the Accelerator is hosted by the International Code Council, developer of the model building codes, and is based on state approved plan review and inspection processes conducted by ICC-NTA, the leading plan review and inspection agency in the off-site construction industry.

The plans featured have already gone through a plan review process in compliance with the state’s off-site construction program. This includes review by ICC-NTA, a state approved third-party plan review and inspection agency. The in-factory fabrication is done by state approved manufacturers with robust quality assurance processes monitored by ICC-NTA and includes regular inspection of the outputs against the preapproved plans.

Off-site construction offers many benefits, including existing state level programs that govern the approvals and inspection processes that allow replicability and efficiency. Off-site construction also supports predictability in timelines and cost and higher quality and less waste than site-built construction. Through off-site construction, many activities that would normally be done in succession can be done in parallel (for example site work/foundations can be done at the same time building modules are being constructed in the factory). This allows projects to be delivered quicker.

No, the Accelerator relies on existing state programs that approve plans submitted by approved manufacturers. The featured plans are proprietary to the Provider and are optimized for their production processes.

The beauty of working with a Provider is that they already have relationships with architects and builders to ensure your project gets built. The architect can handle any site-specific requirements. This also means that the architect and builder already know what it takes to complete the project.
